NCC 2025 Proposed Changes Released

The ABCB has released the proposed changes for the National Construction Code (NCC) 2025, initiating a two-month consultation period. While the focus lies primarily on commercial and mixed-use residential buildings, it's worth noting that housing and Class 1 buildings will also be impacted.

EV pre-provisioning changes include - Requiring more switchboard capacity for a new house (Class 1 building) (Clause 13.7.10).


These changes include stricter condensation provisions and requirements for electrical vehicle pre-provisioning in new homes as well as apartment energy efficiency.

Consultation will be open for two months, closing on 1 July 2024. You can provide feedback via the Public Comment Draft (PCD) on the ABCB website.
