For more than 25 years, BW&A National has been providing superior Building Surveying and Consultancy
services for the Victorian building and property industries. We pride ourselves on providing the highest
standard of advisory solutions, bringing a truly professional and coordinated approach to each project.

 

With the introduction of the Building Act 1993 and Building Regulations, BW&A National has
expanded to provide a full scope of building services. With a specialisation in building permits, we also
undertake approval inspections, audits, regulatory advice, subdivision and town planning services. Our
clients span a vast range of industries, including domestic, commercial, industrial, education and health
sectors.

 

We work closely with our clients to ensure optimum results are achieved from the project’s beginning
until it's completion, and can carefully tailor our services to suit your specific requirements. With a
dedicated, experienced team of certified Building Surveyors and Consultants, BW&A National pro-

MEET THE TEAM

BRENT WILLIAMS

MANAGING DIRECTOR / SENIOR BUILDING SURVEYOR / TOWN PLANNER

Brent is the founder and Managing Director of BW&A National.

 

With over 40 years experience in the building industry, Brent has extensive knowledge across all areas of the private and public sectors.

 

Prior to establishing BW&A National in 1994, Brent began his career as an Apprentice Carpenter in 1976 and then moved into the Building Inspection field, before becoming qualified as a Building Surveyor/Certifier. Complimentary to his qualifications as a Building Surveyor, Brent also holds a qualification in Rural and Regional Planning.

 

Adding to his breadth of knowledge, Brent has served as a Board Member of the Building Appeals Board of Victoria since 2013. He also retains a Domestic Builders Licence, giving him the practical knowledge of the building industry and appreciation of it’s on-site demands.

 

Named Victorian Building Surveyor of the Year in 2007, Brent is a well respected industry leader, he understands the needs of his clients, is passionate about continual learning and is an advocate for driving the industry forward as building methods change.

REBEKAH HULL

TECHNICAL ASSISTANT

Initially working in the reception role, Rebekah's interest in the construction industry developed and has since taken on the role of Technical Assistant. In this role she adds extra administration support to the Assistant Building Surveyors. Rebekah's determined to pursue her interests and become a Project Manager in the future.
When not at work, Rebekah enjoys riding and competing her horses.

STEPH HARDS

RECEPTION / CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFICER

Steph recently joined BW&A following 6 years in the Property & Real Estate sector where she worked as a Property Manager. She is the first point of contact for our clients at reception, whilst also assisting the team with various administrative tasks.  Steph loves to travel and explore new countries, walking the Kokoda Trail a highlight.

ELLA CAMERON

ADMINISTRATION / CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFICER

Ella joined BW&A in March 2020 after 10 years in banking & finance.

She is in the office three days a week to balance her busy life as a mother of two.

Ella assists the team with various administrative tasks as well as being a first point of contact.

RHIANNON WINTON

INSPECTION CO-ORDINATOR

David has been employed with BW&A National since September 2017.  Currently assisting with various technical projects within the office including subdivision management, illegal building works and specialist consult files. 

Courtney has 12 years of experience within the building industry, commencing employment with BW&A National in 2006. She assists in the preparation of applications for lodgement with relevant councils and negotiating with government authorities and municipalities during the town planning process to ensure a positive outcome. 

Rhiannon has been employed with BW&A National since June 2012.  She co-ordinates inspection requests and bookings for all projects within the office, as well as processing fee proposals and invoicing. Rhiannon also provides administration support to all BW&A staff. 

MEGAN FULLGRABE

PERMIT COORDINATOR

Megan commenced employment with BW&A National as a Receptionist in 2012. As a Customer Service Officer she now provides administrative and secretarial support to all BW&A staff and clients. Megan’s knowledge and understanding has helped in developing our online approval software. She also assists clients and relevant authorities with various aspects of Building Permit Applications and general enquiries.
In her spare time, Megan runs her own business, handcrafting concrete candles and small concrete homewares. 

LUKE WALKER

ASSISTANT BUILDING SURVEYOR / BUILDING SURVEYOR (BS-L) GRAD DIP (BE) DIP (BS)

NATHAN PAIN

ASSISTANT BUILDING SURVEYOR / BUILDING INSPECTOR (IN-U) GRAD DIP (BE) DIP (BS)

With 16 years combined practical and professional experience in Residential and Commercial Development, Nathan has developed a robust understanding of the Building Approval process across numerous states.
Since commencing with BW&A in 2011 Nathan has established a sound knowledge of Building Legislation and the National Construction Code, lending to his ability to effectively evaluate a broad range of project types.
 Nathan's early career as a carpenter and joiner, has provided a practical pathway to obtaining his Building Inspector Unlimited Registration.

 

Joining BW&A in 2014 from a trade background in building, Luke has gained a sound understanding of the regulatory systems, the National Construction Code and Australian Standards, and has experience in applying his knowledge to an array of commercial and residential projects.
Luke completed a Diploma of Building Surveying in 2017, and a Graduate Diploma in Built Environment (Building Surveying) with UniSa in 2019.
Luke has obtained Building Surveyors and Inspectors registration with the VBA.

TRENT GEBHART

CADET BUILDING SURVEYOR

Trent developed an interest in the building industry whilst studying Land Surveying  in Melbourne. He approached BW&A National with the intent of doing a few days work experience but quickly moved into the role of Cadet Building Surveyor. He plans to begin his studies in 2021 to further his knowledge and skills. Trent has an eye for detail, and a passion to learn.

DAMIEN WADSWORTH

BUILDING SURVEYOR / MELBOURNE OFFICE

Damien recently racked up 21 years in the building surveying industry, performing multiple roles with small, medium and large firms and working on a variety of projects residential, industrial and commercial.

He was also Municipal Building Surveyor of Bayside Council for 4 years after joining the Council as a Senior Building Surveyor.  Damien values relationships with his clients and strives to provide a high level of customer service.

He opened the BW&A Melbourne office in 2018 after working with Brent on mutual client projects and enjoys working close to home in the inner west.
 

JAMES BULMER

ASSISTANT BUILDING SURVEYOR / MELBOURNE OFFICE

James completed a plumbing apprenticeship in 2013 and whilst working on the tools he decided to enter the building surveying industry as an administration officer. He completed his Diploma of Building Surveying in 2016. His sights are now set on completing his studies to become a fully fledged Building Surveyor.

He enjoys the constantly evolving nature of the industry with new construction materials and legislative changes, and brings the attention to detail  that is key in performing the majority of tasks.

CHLOE WALL

ASSISTANT BUILDING SURVEYOR / MELBOURNE OFFICE

Chloe joined the team at BW&A at the start of 2018 in an administration role and quickly moved into the technical side after a few weeks. She is a competent and skilled individual, who adds value to the team ensuring projects are given the attention required for customer satisfaction. Currently she is studying a Bachelor of Construction Management via UniSa. This year Chloe has made the move to Melbourne and is working from our Melbourne office.

JEFF MCKENZIE

ASSISTANT BUILDING SURVEYOR / 

OCEAN GROVE

Jeff recently rejoined BW&A National as an Assistant Building Surveyor. He has worked within the Building Industry for over 40 years in a variety of roles including Architectural Drafting, Land Surveying, Town Planning and now Building Surveying. He completed a Diploma of Building Surveying in 2013 and has extensive knowledge of the Building Act 1993, Building Regulations 2018 and National Construction Code (BCA). Jeff resides in Ocean Grove

and assists in all aspects ensuring Building Permits are issued correctly and in a timely manner.

GUY ROMEO

BUILDING SURVEYOR / BS-U 1060 /

SWAN HILL OFFICE

Guy is our representative in the Swan Hill office. 

He has over 35 years experience in the building industry, with extensive knowledge in both the private consultancy and Local Government building control sectors. In addition to his Building Surveying qualifications he also attained a Graduate Certificate in Environment & Planning in 2005 through RMIT. Prior to making the recent change to the private building surveying sector with BW&A National, he held the position as the Municipal Building Surveyor for the Swan Hill Rural City Council for the past 10 years and managed the Building Department and the responsibilities associated with that challenging position. Guy’s extensive local knowledge of Swan Hill & Districts and his years of experience in the industry has proven invaluable to the team and to our clients.
