Established in 1994, BW&A National has grown from a single office in Mildura to working nationwide with offices located in Melbourne, Mildura, Yarra Ranges and Swan Hill.

Brent is the founder and Managing Director of BW&A National. 

 

Prior to establishing BW&A National in 1994, Brent began his career as an Apprentice Carpenter in 1976. At the completion of the apprenticeship he moved into the Building Inspection field working with Council, becoming qualified as a Building Surveyor/Certifier in 1990.

 

Complimentary to his qualifications as a Building Surveyor, Brent also holds a qualification in Rural and Regional Planning.

 

Adding to his breadth of knowledge, Brent is a current board member of the Building Appeals Board of Victoria and has served since 2013. He also retains a Domestic Builders Licence, giving him practical knowledge of the building industry and an appreciation of it’s on-site demands.

 

Named Victorian Building Surveyor of the Year in 2007, Brent is a well respected industry leader, he understands the needs of his clients, is passionate about continual learning and is an advocate for driving the industry forward as building methods change.

Nathan Pain

With 16 years of combined practical and professional experience in Residential and Commercial Development, Nathan has developed a robust understanding of the Building Approval process across numerous states. Since commencing with BW&A National in 2011, he has established a sound knowledge of Building Legislation and the National Construction Code, lending to his ability to effectively evaluate a broad range of project types.
  Nathan's early career as a carpenter and joiner has provided a practical pathway to obtaining his Building Inspector Unlimited Registration. 🏉 Carlton

Luke Walker

Joining BW&A in 2014 from a trade background in building, Luke has gained a sound understanding of the regulatory systems, the National Construction Code (NCC) and Australian Standards. He applies this knowledge and experience to an array of commercial and residential projects. Luke completed the Diploma of Building Surveying in 2017, and Graduate Diploma in Built Environment (Building Surveying) with UniSa in 2019. Luke has obtained Building Surveyors and Inspectors registration with the VBA. 🏉 Collingwood

Andrew Bennett

Andrews’s journey began over 30 Years ago as a lift mechanic and rigger. Through his hands-on experience in this specialised field, Andrew developed a deep understanding of construction practices, mechanical systems, and the importance of precision in construction. Driven by a passion for continuous learning and growth, Andrew pursued qualifications as a Building Surveyor. This additional expertise allows him to assess and evaluate buildings, ensuring compliance with the applicable Building Acts, Regulations National Construction Code and standards. Emma holds a Master of Construction Management from The University of Melbourne and has her sights set on obtaining her own Domestic Builders License in the near future.
