 Many areas of Victoria are now deemed to be BAL 12.5 of which, places bush fire protection requirements on the construction of a home and addition to same.


Any home for which design commenced after Oct 2011 (and located in a BAL 12.5 area that may have been BAL Low) are to comply with the new regulations, therefore any plans prepared after that date are required to carry additional information to indicate how the building will comply.
